MPO to LC TAP modules allow users to monitor serial traffic passively without disrupting the live transmission signal. Splitters inside the module split the input signal into two separate fibers, one which is used for monitoring and the other for the continuation of the input signal. The MPO port at the rear of the module can be used for monitoring all of the 6 ports by means of a MPO to LC harness. This method facilitates TAP monitoring without consuming any any additional space in the chassis.
